9-28-2010 Northern Wisconsin NORML Meeting Minutes
Discussed November 2nd coming up – we should come up with creative ways to let people know that they should go vote. Jay discussed putting signs or posters on a vehicle and driving it around Ripon and other towns on November 2nd – maybe people stopping into bars and reminding people to go vote also. People walking around in sandwich billboards is also an idea.
Northern Wisconsin NORML is now officially a chapter. Jan and Jay will go and set the bank account up.
At the Golden Harvest Days Parade, Jay met with Rob Taylor and blogged about it – Taylor is pro-hemp and pro-marijuana. He stated he would eliminate the DEA.
The governor candidates are having discussions on WPR in the next few weeks.
Still no word from the Scott Walker campaign about his stance on the issue.
Barrett told Ben Masel he would speak with him in December and would be happy to address the marijuana issue at that time (after the election…)
Randall & Britney are going to have the NORML pendents ready by the From the Land festival.

Harvest Fest is coming this weekend – Jay is going to be speaking – he hasn’t decided on whether he will go on Saturday, Sunday, or both.
Jay discussed the “personal invite” method of finding new members. He said that of all of the facebook posting and other things that he did this week, he only made one personal contact to ask a specific person (Tim) and that person came. Laura also brought Mark with her.
NORML merchandise – now that we are an official chapter we get merchandise dirt cheap. The gold marijuana lapel pins that they charge $30 for are only $1 on the NORML merchandise page. We can use those for fundraising.
Willie Nelson is most likely not going to be at Harvest Fest.
We should develop a system by which members check on the online community calendars and make sure that the meeting times / dates are on the calendars, and are correct.
