Elizaveta – Fairy tale for girls
I discovered Elizaveta a few years back on Myspace, and fell in love with her music instantly. I have followed her across several social networks, bought her albums, gratefully downloaded the free songs that she sends out to her fans from time to time, and in general, I have grown to feel as though she is a part of my life, despite her being a stranger who lives across the country from me. Recently, she asked her fans to help get the word out about her music. I would like to thank her for the lovely music (and the free mp3’s) by sharing her music with others as she requested, and hopefully bringing her some new fans. This is one of my favorite songs by her. The first verse makes me think of when I was a kid, reading and re-reading my Narnia books (haunted castles, talking trees…) and all kinds of other things too…
Please visit her website to hear more of her music, purchase her albums, read her blog, and more! http://elizaveta.typepad.com/
oh, and just a bit of advice girls, you do indeed need to learn to be your own hero… the world has a severe shortage of heroes and there is no guarantee you’ll ever meet one in your lifetime…
Elizaveta – Fairy Tale for Girls
There’s a book I used to read
leaving stains on favorite pages
haunted castles, talking trees
phantom beasts in golden cages
can you see me rushing by
so sure of ever after
she is still somewhere inside
ponytales and sudden laughter
take all the magic you have found
and pictures you have made
use all the beauty you’re allowed
before it starts to fade
love all the princes that you meet
the dimples and the curls
and be your own princess in
this fairy tale for girls
this fairy tale for girls
And there’s a boy I used to see
and he could almost hypnotize me
don’t know what he saw in me
but even now his magic binds me
and I will dream of him at night
walking in my secret garden
I would like to have your child
how can you say I’m a burden
take all the magic you have found
pictures you have made
use all the beauty you’re allowed
before it starts to fade
love all the princes that you’ll meet
the dimples and the girls
and be your own hero in
this fairy tale for girls
this fairy tale for girls
All the times I’d beg and crawl
feeling wounded and infected
well did you say it was my fault
I just wish to feel protected
I’ll take all magic I have found
and pictures I have made
use all the beauty I’m allowed
before it starts to fade
love all the princes that I’ll meet
the dimples and the curls
and write my own chapter in
